Summer Camp Update 3/11/26
Thank you for your interest in summer camp at the Patuxent River 4-H Center. Unfortunately, with heavy hearts, we must share that the Center will be closing this year, and we will no longer be holding summer camps.
It has truly been an honor to be part of so many childhood memories over the years. We are grateful to the families who trusted us with their children each summer and allowed us to be part of such special moments.
This camp has been more than just a summer program. For many of us, it has been a second home. It has been a place where children gained confidence, made lifelong friends, tried new things, and created memories that will stay with them forever. Being part of those moments has been an honor, and it is incredibly difficult to say goodbye.
Thank you for sharing your summers with us. We wish you and your family all the best.
Best wishes,
Jocelyn Winemiller,

Big Adventures, Small Camp Feel
Looking for a summer camp where your child will feel seen, safe, and at home? At Patuxent River 4-H Center, we keep our camp sessions limited so every camper can thrive.
A smaller summer camp size can bring a lot of unique benefits, both for campers and staff. Here’s some of the biggest advantages:
🌲 For Campers:
✅ Real Friendships – Our smaller group sizes mean kids get to really know each other. Campers leave with tight-knit friendships and unforgettable memories.
✅Less Overwhelming Environment - Some kids feel anxious in large groups—smaller camps can feel safer, calmer, and more welcoming.
✅ Individual Attention – Our experienced staff members and counselors take time to get to know every camper—supporting their growth, confidence, and curiosity.
✅ Safe & Supportive Environment – With fewer campers, we can keep a close eye on safety, communication, and emotional well-being.
✅ Personalized Camp Experience – Whether it’s hiking, crafts, nature exploration, or team games, our campers enjoy activities and discover new interests—without getting lost in the crowd.

PR4HC Summer Camp
Encouraging children to connect with the awe-inspiring beauty of nature and igniting their curiosity to explore the endless wonders it holds!
At the Patuxent River 4-H Center Foundation, our summer camp provides a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment where children can connect with nature, engage in hands-on STEM activities, and build essential life skills. Through outdoor adventures like stream studies, eco-projects, and sustainable farming, campers learn science and environmental stewardship while growing in confidence, leadership, and teamwork. We aim to spark curiosity and create lifelong memories in a setting that nurtures both learning and personal development.
We understand that every child is unique, which is why we offer both day and overnight options for our campers.
Patuxent River 4H Center is ACA accredited. We assure you that your child's safety is our top priority. Our staff is trained to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all campers. They will also guide your child through all the activities and help them develop new skills, leadership, confidence, friendships and love for nature.

We understand that the economic challenges have impacted many families. We believe that no child should miss out on the chance to experience summer camp. We've received numerous inquiries about whether the Patuxent River 4H Center offers scholarships. While we would love to provide this opportunity, we need your assistance.
The cost for one week of camp is $275 for day camp and $395 for resident (overnight) camp. Sponsors can contribute any amount, and these donations will go directly toward the tuition for children in need. Our goal is to raise $2,500.00, give what you can every donation makes a difference.
Your support will help create a valuable experience for campers who may not otherwise have the chance to attend.
Summer camp fosters self-esteem, builds friendships, teaches essential life skills, and creates memories that last a lifetime.
With heartfelt gratitude, PR4HC
